The following programs are available to persons in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties only. Funding for these in-home service programs is provided through UPCAP Services, Inc., and the UP Area Agency on Aging.

Home Care

Provides assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, eating and ambulation. Client must experience difficulty in performing activities of daily living. A referral from a doctor or nurses is needed. Home Care workers are trained nurses aides and/or experienced in caring for the elderly. Worker may also assist with light housekeeping as time and funding permits.

Homemaker Aide

Assists persons 60 years of age or older who are physically and/or emotionally unable to perform regular household duties. Service includes light housekeeping, laundry, and other basic chores. The service is offered as needed, depending on individual circumstances, availability of staff, and funding.

Respite Care

Trained personnel provide companionship, supervision, and assistance to mentally or physically disabled persons requiring continual supervision. Program provides relief for primary caregivers, and is offered from 4 - 8 hours weekly or as needed. A referral from a doctor or nurse is needed.
